“My music is personal. Where I come from, what I listen to, the crazy things I did when I was sixteen. They inspire every song I write. I’ve been doing it since I was eight and will for the rest of my life.”

Influenced by her big-city upbringing in Vancouver, BC and her love for the sounds of artists like Joni Mitchell, Ed Sheeran and John Mayer, Tessa’s brand of “urban country” explores a blend of country, folk and pop. Since the release of her debut EP in 2014, Tessa’s music has evolved with her maturing talent. Tessa, who studied at the Sarah McLachlan School of Music, won the international songwriting competition “Your Voice in the Park” at 14 years old. Now a published poet and TEDx speaker, the singer has performed on stages across BC, TN and even London, England. Some highlights include: the Massey Theatre, the Rio Theatre and the PNE with regular rounds at Belcourt Taps, the Commodore Grille and more.

The singer, who splits her time between the west coast and Nashville, TN, aims to release new music in 2017.
